How To Draw Fall Out Boy
How to depict a falling figure
The painting technique that I used for this piece is pretty straightforward, and so I'm going to talk about how to draw manga, plus my ideas and decision-making processes that developed while I was creating this graphic symbol drawing.
I started this image for fun during my gratis time. I got inspired while randomly watching anime shows one Saturday morning. I wanted to convey a floating or jumping character, on a bookmark-sized canvas. After trying out a diversity of poses, I ended up with a female pupil figure descending from the heaven.
The biggest headache during the initial stage was the skirt. I wasn't nifty to get downwardly the road of doing what'south widely known as a 'fan service' slice, and then I moved the left knee a picayune more to the left of shot. My aim was to depict a grapheme loaded with accessories, and so I gathered references for a Japanese schoolgirl's bag, and added it to my vague retentiveness of what other items my school friends carried around with them.
In 1 of my sketches the character is belongings on to her umbrella. Information technology looked a little awkward and so I decided to separate the manus and umbrella. The reason for including the umbrella was to have an interesting shadow cast over the grapheme, and to depict the effect this had on colours that were at present in the shade.
01. Capture the all-time pose
I start off past producing a serial of rough sketches that help finalise the composition, grapheme pose and accessories. I create between two and three layers over a sketch before I really refine my art. I take information technology slow at this stage and then I don't dirty the line fine art.
02. Layering and cleaning upwardly
I love this phase the nigh, because it involves fixing every small item of everything in the image. I also have to determine what elements of the paradigm go on which layers. I'll go back to the refined sketch layer whenever I'm uncertain how I should progress.
03. Colouring and lighting
Right from the start of the process I take a rough idea most the lighting and colour I'll be depicting. I adopt to make full in elements using a solid colour, then that whatsoever time to come colour adjustments will be piece of cake to practise later on. I also apply a elementary shadow here.
